Zinc-Nickel Plating Process

  • Surface Preparation

Components are cleaned, degreased, and activated to ensure a contamination-free surface. Proper preparation is critical to achieving the correct zinc-nickel alloy composition in the deposit.

  • Zinc-Nickel Electroplating

Parts are plated in an alkaline or acid zinc-nickel bath, depositing an alloy containing typically 12–15% nickel. This composition provides significantly superior corrosion resistance compared to standard zinc plating.

  • Passivation and Inspection

After plating, parts receive a trivalent chromate passivation treatment to further boost corrosion protection. Each part is inspected for alloy composition, coating thickness, and surface finish to meet automotive and aerospace standards.
